Votre profil

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and collaborative research associate or lab technician to join our dynamic team at the research site in Schlieren, Zurich. In this role you will be responsible for planning and execution of drug discovery experiments in the therapeutic area of nephrology. You will be part of a diverse team committed to building a growing portfolio of nephrology assets from early discovery to preclinical drug nomination. 

  • Independent planning, execution, and analysis of drug discovery experiments, presenting results in lab meetings and searching for information in scientific and technical literature
  • Development, optimization, and execution of pharmacologic assays for the identification, characterization, and optimization of drug candidates
  • Application of a broad range of biochemical, cell-based and molecular biology technologies for drug discovery
  • Establishing renal disease models and testing efficacy of drug candidates
  • High quality data analysis, reporting documentation of experimental results in electronic lab journal
  • Maintenance and organization of the lab to the highest industry standards
  • Supervising and mentoring apprentices and students
  • Enthusiastic collaboration, proactive support, and exchange of project-related knowledge with all team members
  • University degree (BSc, MSc) in Life Sciences or completed apprenticeship as Biology Laboratory Technician with >3 years work experience in an industrial or academic setting
  • Solid practical experience with cell and molecular biology techniques, genetic editing of mammalian cells, complex cell- and organoid-based assays ideally with renal immortalized or primary renal cells
  • Extensive experience in some of these standard laboratory techniques: molecular biology (RNA isolation, qPCR), biochemical/imaging methods (Western, ELISA, flow cytometry, IHC and fluorescence microscopy), and cell-based assays (transfection/virus transduction, functional cellular assays (e.g. cell survival, proliferation, migration)
  • License to carry out in vivo studies (“LTK1” or equivalent FELASA permit) is a plus
  • Research experience with rodent disease models, preferably in the renal disease field and expertise in common techniques of animal research is a plus 
  • Respectful attitude to colleagues and efficient teamwork
  • Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and technical details
  • Standard IT skills (MS Office) and data analysis software (e.g. GraphPad Prism, FlowJo and other instrument specific software)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, German is a plus
