Responsibilities

  • Reporting to a Director, Field Logistics, collaborate with cross-functional partners to navigate the reimbursement landscape and ensure appropriate patient access to Relypsa products

  • Territory: 
    California (Los Angeles, San Francisco), Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Nevada (Reno), and Idaho (Boise).

Tasks

  • Analyze all available data to identify access opportunities and challenges to develop a strategic territory business plan
  • Serve as subject-matter expert and leverage all available resources to educate customers on payer coverage, Relypsa assistance programs, and how to navigate reimbursement challenges to ensure patients receive medication in a timely manner
  • Create seamless collaboration between all Relypsa internal stakeholders including Patient Access Services, Trade & Distribution, Managed Markets, and Field Sales to resolve local payer coverage issues and other patient access challenges
  • Collaborate with internal partners on critical initiatives

Qualifications

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Eight or more years’ experience, including two or more years’ minimum in two of the following areas: practice management or practice revenue and billing cycle; public and private third-party reimbursement for specialty products; or pharmaceutical or managed-care industry reimbursement including field reimbursement interactions with healthcare providers
  • Experience guiding customers and patients through reimbursement hub
  • Strong understanding of payer policy procedures and requirements including ability to navigate reimbursement utilization controls
  • Knowledge of private payer, Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA health plan structures and reimbursement modalities
  • Keen ability to analyze and interpret regulations and legislation
  • Good driving record and ability to drive in daytime and evening
  • Must reside within territory, within 45-minute drive of major airport
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of time

Preferred Requirements

-       Advanced degree

-     Experience in nephrology and/or cardiology therapeutic areas
