We are currently recruiting for an accomplished Commercial Operations Lead to take an immediate assignment in our Vifor Fresenius Renal Pharma  business.

In this role your main responsibilities will include:

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Responsible for supporting the Head of Commercialization VFMCRP in executing the business strategy for the VFMCRP product portfolio
  • Operational implementation of the strategic objectives of VFMCRP, with particular focus on the US business

Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for end-to-end operational value chain, ensuring that VFMCRP business is smoothly executed
  • Responsible for business operations, including but not limited to management of contractual obligations, data management, and reporting
  • Responsible for developing operational set-up and processes for new business, including contracting support
  • Deputizing Head of Commercialization for USDM operational team management upon request
  • Ensuring cross-functional alignment and collaboration with operational functions such as Supply Chain and Quality


  • Primary business finance accountability for key strategic brands within the VFMCRP portfolio
  • Responsible for budgeting and accrual management for key strategic brands
  • Responsible for monitoring and transparency in close collaboration with CFO VFMCRP
  • Responsible for finance modeling to support strategic objectives

Main Tasks:

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Translating strategy into business models, contractual frameworks and actionable project plans for operational team
  • Pull-through of strategic programs by leading cross-functional project teams from concept to delivery

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee operational activities, ensure efficient allocation of operational tasks within VFMCRP team, define new processes and adjust operational set-up as required; hands-on support for critical items and conflict resolution
  • Project management of cross-functional projects
  • Operations and alliance management for in-license partners, wholesalers and customers
  • Close collaboration with Supply Chain on demand and supply planning
  • Line management of the Data Management Specialist


  • Perform twice yearly (or as required) detailed brand-specific financial planning and facilitate planning review with Finance/Senior Leadership
  • Perform business modelling as required by key stakeholders and generate supporting materials
  • Key contact for Finance for any business financial topics or requests

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in related field required; Masters/MBA/PhD preferred
  • 3+ years of similar experience within same field and on same level
  • 5+ years of working in the pharmaceuticals/biotech/life science space, including marketing, sales and operations
  • Proven track record in leading operational end-to-end partnership structures in pharmaceuticals/biotech/life science industry
  • Ability to manage demand and supply planning
  • Advanced skills and experience with finance and budgeting
  • Strategic planning, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong track record in working in agile and fast-changing environment
  • Excellent command of English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative attitude and ability to manage challenging external relationships

Preferred Requirements

  • High ethical standards, integrity and strength of character in personal and professional dealings and a willingness to act on and be accountable for the decisions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to address a broad range of diverse stakeholders and audiences
  • Scientific/medical/pharma educational background
  • Leadership skills and experience with people management
  • German language skills
