About You

We are seeking a dynamic, flexible and engaging Marketing Director to join our growing team in the UK. In this position of Marketing Director, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic and operational marketing plans which deliver the desired levels of growth and annual sales targets; allocation and control of marketing budget and effective sales and supply chain forecasting; support and development of the marketing team and ensuring compliance with the organisation’s duty of care obligations in pharmacovigilance and medical information. Reporting to the General Manager, UK & Ireland, your tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Define the strategy and set strategic imperatives for the brands
  • Ensure KPIs for the marketing team performance are set and the platforms for measurement are developed 
  • Build and effectively use customer insight for the development of the  marketing strategy
  • Effective management control of marketing OPEX
  • Gain approval for and effectively implement strategic and operational plans with appropriate budgets
  • Develop key message across numerous platforms for the brands and ensure they are effectively communicated to customers through scientific and commercial channels
  • Support the sales force by developing high quality, customer focused communication materials which align with the brand strategy
  • Monitor brand performance through a variety of qualitative and quantitative data sources and take appropriate action
  • Support market access activities as appropriate as part of cross-functional teams
  • Play a key role in the Vifor Pharma UK management team
  • Forecast sales and recommend Latest Estimates during the financial planning cycle
  • Manage forecasting for supply chain through an 18 month rolling forecast
  • Build external relationships with partners and customers
  • Build and maintain a high level of disease knowledge and credibility with physicians
  • Build effective and influential relationships with relevant HQ staff
  • Manage promotional activity within the appropriate Code of Practice
  • Leadership of the marketing team ensuring proactive management and development of team members
You are bring a degree in Science or Economics, in addition to the following experience:
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in commercial functions with at least 5 years in a UK operational marketing role
  • A track record of successful brand building, especially in the hospital setting
  • Demonstrable competence in all aspects of strategic and operational marketing including leading effective implementation
  • A passion for brand building through insight, intelligence and evidence which turns ideas into results
  • Proven track record of leading teams to outstanding sales achievement
  • Significant experience of National Health Service (NHS) funding and commissioning processes
  • Basic understanding of medical aspects of therapeutic area along with willingness to develop in-depth expertise
  • Professional level in English, both in oral and in written communications
  • Excellent user of Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Significant experience in industry senior management roles, and experience of managing individuals and teams
  • Experience of working with commercial teams is preferred
