About You

We are recruiting a Head of Sales at our office in Lima. In this position, you will report directly to the General Manager and contribute to strategic decisions as a member of the Management Team. You will be responsible for achieving targets for domestic sales, achieving goals drainage, control and monitor stocks in the sales channels and oversee sales force effectiveness. You’re responsibilities will include the following:

  • Participate with the management team in developing the sales budget
  • Develop and achieve sales targets for each territory in coordination with territory managers
  • Manage commercial channels: Distributors, Pharmacy Chains, Private Retail and Institutional
  • Direct and control expenses related to sales force activities
  • Determine the optimal structure of the sales team
  • Implement, monitor and analyse compliance with defined key performance ratio to measure the sales force effectiveness
  • Lead sales activities based on the objectives outlined in the marketing plan and business plan
  • Lead targeting execution; doctors and pharmacies
  • Implement training program to enhance sales force skills
  • Develop and implement the commission’s plan and incentives for high performance and achievement
  • Work on the field with medical representatives, and territory managers providing the right feedback and coaching, whilst ensuring the effective alignment with marketing guidelines and proper use of the tools
  • Network with pharmacy chains, wholesalers and distributors
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and ethical behavior in sales management

You bring a Post-Graduate University Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field, in addition to the following experience:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as Territory Manager in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as Sales Manager in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep knowledge of the Peruvian pharmaceutical market with a demonstrable business network
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical auditing tools, including DDD, Close Up and Focus Mix
  • Deep knowledge of the Institutional market, including Army and Police Hospitals, Essalud, MINSA, Clinics, and Insurance companies
  • Deep knowledge of Market Access and Tenders at an Institutional level
  • Fluency in English

Beside very strong communication skills, you show resilience but also effectively work both reactively and pro-actively and you bring a strategic outlook with the ability to drive change where necessary. Your strong interpersonal and leadership skills enable you to not only direct and coordinate tasks to your team but also to show hands-on mentality and lead by example.
