About You

In this critical role, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional to lead strategy and communication on the Field Medical Teams within Medical Affairs. In the position of Global Head Field Medical Excellence you will report to the Global Head Medical Centre of Excellence. Your tasks will also include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Develop Field Medical strategy and resource planning to ensure and optimise deployment, planning, and scientific engagement across the portfolio in each geography
  • Maintain standards and Identify Metrics and KPIs for Field Medical teams in alignment with corporate goals, prevailing regulatory, compliance  and legal guidance and Industry Best Practices for Field Medical and MSL organisations
  • Routinely evaluate, optimise and adjust Field Medical alignment, as needed, to meet the needs of the scientific and healthcare communities while meeting organisational resource demands
  • Develop and maintain world-class onboarding, training, skill development, coaching of Field Medical teams.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Market Access to align scientific support to Payer teams as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, the presentation of safety, efficacy, burden of illness, outcomes and other requested information from internal and external requestors
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Commercial functions for Field Medical Functional capabilities and scientific engagement
  • Lead communication and collaboration with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Compliance and Commercial functions on Field Medical related activities and projects
  • Provide guidance, process and compliant approaches to sharing scientific insights and information from KOLs, healthcare providers and payers with internal stakeholders
  • Develop and update Field Medical Policies and Guidance

The ideal candidate holds at least a Master’s Degree, but preferably an MD, PharmD or PhD in a Life Sciences field, in addition to the following experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Leadership experience within a pharmaceutical company, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Medical Science Liaison management
  • Prior success building teams, processes and infrastructure
  • Experience with health care industry compliance
  • Proven relationship building skills with key opinion leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Professional level in English, both in oral and in written communications
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical launch, commercialization and business practices
  • Finance and budgeting experience
  • Basic knowledge of Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs and Drug Safety
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
