About You

To support our growing organisation in the United Kingdom, we are seeking a Patient Access Director. Responsible for coordinating all Patient Access activities, acting as the Vifor Pharma UK lead for healthcare policy, Health Technology Assessments (HTA), Pricing, Tendering and Contracts, Guidelines, Pharmacoeconomics, Budget Impact and Value Messaging, we are seeking an experienced professional within the field. In this role, you will report to the General Manager UK with a dotted line to the Global Head of Market Access and have a Patient Access & Policy Team reporting into you. Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Optimise access for VPUK brands by leading efforts on-funding, and funding pull-through
  • Work and align with the Vifor Global Market Access team on the planning and execution of brand access strategies, value tool development & execution, and company initiatives
  • Develop Market Access and NHS strategic materials in line with the needs of VPUK brands and in line with global brand strategies
  • Lead and manage the Patient Access team including policy, HEOR, advocacy, and access activities in function of brand strategy needs
  • Drive the NHS Strategy for the Vifor UK business
  • Responsible for the development of the NHS strategic plan and its implementation
  • Partner with the Medical, Marketing and Sales teams in the development and execution of brand and cross-brand activities and programmes
  • Responsible alongside the National Sales Director for the smooth cooperation of the sales teams to achieve Market Access for VPUK products
  • Lead the PRM team to Develop and implement effective Advocacy programmes
  • Lead the Communications, Policy and Governmental Affairs team to develop and implement effective communications  and policy programmes
  • Lead the commercial  development manager to evaluate market and develop recommendations for VPUK

The ideal candidate brings a Scientific or Economics degree, significant experience within the pharmaceutical industry in addition to the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of Market Access, NHS funding and commissioning processes, HTA, ABN, Pharmacoeconomics and BIM (minimum 7 years with market access experience, which 3 years in an access leadership role)
  • Proven track record of influencing CCG and Hospital patient care pathways and funding models
  • Understanding of medical aspects of relevant therapeutic areas (Cardiology, Gastroenterology) along with willingness to develop in-depth expertise
  • Professional level in English, both in oral and in written communications
  • Excellent user of Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Has a working knowledge of the ABPI and similar regulatory bodies
  • Experience working with the NHS, NICE and CCGs

You demonstrates strong communication skills in English with ability to efficiently and productively communicate orally and in writing. You have outstanding analytical skills – science-based and marketing oriented – with broad scientific, pharmacoeconomic and medical knowledge, with continuous expansion and learning ability.  You bring experience and can take a product through a successful Health technology assessment with the relevant bodies. You work and champions ideas and applies entrepreneurial thinking and spirit. You have strong leadership skills, can inspire a team.  You demonstrate customer orientation with the ability to continuously expand market knowledge. You examine and understands issues from multiple perspectives or points of view, readily sees inter-relationships and cause-and-effect relationships; takes a systematic approach to successfully resolving all issues. You work effectively in cross-functional & international teams (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Medical, global functions, and other country teams). Acts as a role model for others in line with VIFOR Pharma values, setting a positive image.
